Klaus G. Hoehn is Vice President, Advanced Technology and Engineering, Deere & Company, a position he has held since January 2006. He is responsible at the corporate level for directing advanced technology development and engineering services that support worldwide agricultural, construction, and commercial and consumer equipment design and manufacturing.
Following an academic career as professor in Germany and Ethiopia, Hoehn joined Deere & Company in 1992 as Manager, Engineering, at John Deere Werke in Mannheim, Germany. He transferred to the company's Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1997, where he served as Manager, Worldwide Core Technology and Component Engineering. In 1998, Hoehn was named Director, Worldwide Tractor and Component Engineering.
He is a member of VDI, a German engineering association, and a previous board member of VDI's Max-Eyth-Society. Hoehn is also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, a previous member of the SAE Board of Directors, and a previous member of SAE Foundation Board of Trustees. Additionally, he served on the Iowa State University IPRT Industrial Advisory Board, Iowa State University ABE Advisory Council, and the University of Michigan NAC Advisory Board, as well as the German Fraunhofer Advisory Council at the University of Magdeburg, Germany.
Hoehn received bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in mechanical and agricultural engineering from Rostock University in Germany.
