The education of our apprentices is demand-oriented. It is our goal to retain our trainees.

The duration of your apprenticeship depends on your type of training. A technical training takes 3.5 years, while its commercial counterpart takes 2.5 years. Both can be shorter if you fulfil certain requirements. The vocational training starts on September 2nd of each year. Throughout your training you are mentored by an experienced instructor.

Technical Apprenticeships

Construction Mechanics with specialization in welding technique

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship: Both physical and mental dexterity are beneficial for a career as a Fabrication Mechanic. During this apprenticeship you are fabricating metal parts and components. Accuracy and precision are required for this type of work because you will follow exact specification when precision-cutting, shaping and drilling steel profiles and plates before assembling them into parts and components. Performing maintenance and repair work on machines and tools is also part of your work as a Fabrication Mechanic.

Electronic Engineers for Operations Technology

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship:

As an Electronic Engineer your work will include a wide variety of responsibilities. In addition to maintenance, repair work and the installation of electrical systems, you are also working on the set-up of highly complex, computer-controlled systems. Analysing process sequences, identifying and eliminating malfunctions and mounting electrical equipment are also part of the job during your apprenticeship.

Industrial Mechanic (different specializations available)

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship:
As an Industrial Mechanic you work in production and maintenance. You are responsible for the availability of machines and production facilities by monitoring and optimizing the production process. You fabricate equipment parts and machine components, which will be mounted to machines and technical systems. When malfunctions occur on machines or technical systems, you will determine and resolve the issue.

You can choose between locations with different specializations. In Mannheim and in Bruchsal, this apprenticeship is specialized for production technology, at our Stadtlohn location, the specialisation is in mechanical and plant engineering.

Mechatronics Technician

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship:
As a Mechatronics Technician you are building complex mechatronic systems out of mechanical, electrical and electronic components. Part of your job is to produce individual components which will later be assembled into systems and installations. You make sure that these systems are properly programmed and equipped with the right software. Mechatronics is a burgeoning field where your responsibilities are constantly evolving.

Mechatronics Technician

Mechatronics Technician (different specializations available)

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship:
As a Mechatronics Technician at John Deere you are responsible for maintaining andrepairing vehicles. When malfunctions and irregularities occur, you will fix them with the help of the most modern diagnostic equipment. Equipping vehicles with additional systems, trailers or special equipment, modifying or even upgrading them, will also be among your tasks. This is a challenging, multi-faceted job in which you’ll keep learning and evolving.

You can choose between locations with different specializations. While at Mannheim and Bruchsal this apprenticeship is specialized in commercial vehicle technology, our location in Zweibrücken specialises in agricultural and construction machinery.

Technical Product Designer

Here’s what you will learn during your apprenticeship: As a Technical Product Designer, you design individual components, assemblies and complete systems, and coordinate the development process. The focus of your activities as a Technical Product Designer at John Deere is on the production of standard-conforming engineering drawings. These are used as design, guide and assembly drawings. You are also responsible for the preparation of other technical documentation as well as for registrations, evaluations and calculations.

Fachkraft für Lagerlogistik

Was du während deiner Ausbildung lernen wirst: Du bedienst Transportgeräte und Lagerverwaltungssysteme. Du nimmst Waren an und prüfst die Menge und Beschaffenheit. In regelmäßigen Abständen kontrollierst du die Bestände und stellst gegeben falls Güter für den Weitertransort zusammen. Im Warenausgang wirst du Auslieferungstouren planen und ermittelst die beste Versandart. Du arbeitest viel im Team sowie mit Kunden, Lieferanten, Fahrern und Mitarbeitern aus kaufmännischen Abteiligen.
