A John Deere Wheeled Forester loads logs in the forest with graphics indicating precision log placement.

John Deere is the innovation leader in forest machine technology. We develop products with reduced environmental impact and increased operator comfort.

The system is switched on and off with the press of a button.

The system dampens the cylinder end movements softly and stops strong blow-like loads in the end positions, making for smoother operation and also improving the boom’s durability.

IBC 3.0 brings more automated functions to forwarders

With IBC 3.0, at the push of a button the boom automatically moves to the position from which the previous grapple load was taken – both when loading and unloading logs. The boom can also be automatically moved into transporting position at the push of a button.

Intelligent Harvester Head Control (IHC)

Intelligent Harvester Head Control (IHC) makes the operator’s work easier and improves delimbing quality

The operator sets the desired force level for the delimbing knives and the IHC measures the compression force and automatically adjusts it as needed.

Exact information

The data between the machines are updated through a cloud service, and all the operators working at the same work site can see all the tree species and assortments with the driving routes right down to the individual logs. The contractor has real-time information about the progress and an estimate of the completion of the work.

Ergonomic workplace

The rotating and leveling cabin increases work efficiency and improves ergonomics. The automatic leveling function allows the operator to sit upright even when the machine is on uneven terrain. The boom and the cabin are mounted on separate frame sections, effectively decreasing the jolts on the cabin when handling stems and thus improving operator comfort.

Clear view

The RENCRAFT®-polycarbonate is high quality material that has an excellent optical quality due to the manufacturing process. The view does not distort even when looking out sideways. Thanks to the Super Hard Coat, the polycarbonate has almost the same wear resistance as glass. The wipers don't scratch it easily and the tolerance for cleaning agents is good. The new windows are also thicker than previously, so the sound insulation improves as well. New glass fulfills the standard ISO 21876 as well as ECE R43 Class L standard.

The system adjusts the engine's RPMs

Adaptive driveline control is a unique standard feature in G-Series forest machines. This control system improves the machines’ drivability and productivity. The operator selects the desired driving mode (Eco, Normal, Power) for the operating conditions, and the system automatically adjusts the engine’s RPMs to correspond with the engine load and keeps the driving speed steady also during high loads. High engine RPM's are used only when needed, decreasing noise level and fuel consumption. The driveline control ensures that the diesel engine runs smoothly and uses the available maximum tractive force efficiently during high-load situations.  Adaptive Driveline Control is a unique standard feature only available from John Deere.
