The thorough, high-capacity feeding system of the L600 Large Square Baler grabs large windrows at impressive speeds and picks up any crop you put in front of it, from hay and straw to speciality crops like hemp.
The L600 feeder system is a top-end performer. Cam track technology and wide pickups matched to high-capacity rotors aligned with massive converging augers transform windrows of any shape and size into the uniform crop stream that is the foundation for uniformly sculpted, high-density bales.
High-capacity pickup and rotor
John Deere's RotoFlow or MaxiCut™ pickups efficiently speed the crop into the precompression chamber with high-capacity rotors and large aligned augers. Even the stickiest of crops flow smoothly into the baler.

The rugged baffle roller extensions help precompress large windrows of fluffy and light crops such as cornstalks and straw.
Feeder fork
The feeder fork operates in two modes: intermittent for irregular windrows, or one-on-one for large windrows of consistent size. The toughened-up, low-maintenance multicrop packer system of the L600 forms each bale only when the chamber is completely full.

With John Deere's prechopper, you can serve more customers than ever: strawberry plantations, mushroom cultivators, and livestock operations that require animal bedding all need the finely chopped straw you can deliver.
Though the prechopper has one of the largest rotors on the market, you can lift it out of the way to get 650 mm (25.6 in.) of ground level clearance when you’re not using it.

When the long 3.3-m (10.8-ft) bale chamber has been filled, the precision-controlled forces of several components compress the crop flakes into sculpted, rock-hard square bales of concentrated energy.
The load pin-controlled high-capacity plunger works at a rate of 46 strokes per minute and is guided by some of the largest plunger bearings in farming, greased automatically for low-maintenance intensity.

The knotter frame is kept isolated from tension, which maintains the correct load on needles and twine in all crop conditions. This means less component wear and reliable, tension-free knots that you can count on no matter what crop you’re in or what the conditions are.
Each knotter is individually monitored via the bar graph on your in-cab display, with visual and audio alerts provided for any anomalies.
