Wire/ Decoder Stations

1. Wire or decoder stations?

With the ability to run wires and decoders, we’ve broken the code on cost.
John Deere Decoders
As concern over on the cost of maintaining a course has grown, employing decoder-activated sprinklers has become more and more popular.

Unlike conventionally activated stations, where a wire is linked to each individual sprinkler head, a decoder-based system requires only one wire to run around the entire course or zone. This reduces the cost of wire, trenching and turf disturbance of installing sprinkler heads, greatly.

Decoders are then attached to this one wire, and they in turn activate individual sprinkler heads or wires operating blocks of sprinkler heads when a coded signal is sent from the field controller.

Both the Aurora ALT standard and AUR peer-to-peer controllers have the ability to run conventional wire and decoder stations – or both (hybrid).

Ask your John Deere Golf distributor whether a decoder-based system is right for you. Depending on the size of your course, using one could result in significant cost savings.

Ready for more choice? Choose between field or wall-mounted controllers.

Features at a Glance

High Performance
  • Improve field aesthetics and reduce costs with buried in-field decoders
  • Protect against the elements with completely encapsulated electronic components
  • Efficient utilization of field wiring uses less than conventional satellite systems
  • Simple two-wire system can be spliced adding more stations during installation
  • User ID addressing system, permits custom numbering eliminating confusion associated with fixed-ID based addressing systems.
  • Decoders operate single, dual, triple and quad stations, allowing for one, two, three or four solenoid operation
  • Pedestal accommodates 3x125 station modules
  • Wall mount accommodates 2x125 station modules

Cost Effective
  • Simple installation requirements and direct access keep the cost of installation and maintenance low
  • Conventional satellite controller installations generally use large quantities of field station wire
  • Decoders utilize a two-way wire-path connecting the decoders to solenoids
