John Deere announces more new compact tractors

20C Compact Tractor Following the introduction of two new tractor models in July, the 31hp 2720 and the 36hp 3036E, John Deere has unveiled two additional lower horsepower machines aimed at landscapers, contractors, nurseries, market gardeners and ‘hobby’ farmers.

The 17hp 20C and 22hp 25C Standard models enter the John Deere range below the company’s current smallest compact tractor, the 23hp 2320, and the 23hp X748 4WD diesel lawn tractor. These new tractors are particularly designed for use with rear mounted implements, including trailers, ploughs, cultivators, tillers, pasture toppers and mowers.

Both machines are based on the same strong chassis design, with durable cast axles and a heavy-duty transaxle for maximum strength, reliability and productivity. The tractors’ narrow overall width of just over 1m allows easier access and operation in confined spaces, such as orchards and small paddocks.

25C Compact Tractor High performance features include power steering, an eight forward/eight reverse gear transmission with a top speed of 22kph (14mph), and a Category 1N three-point hitch with a lift capacity of up to 500kg at the lift points.

The wide, flat floor operator station has a clean and ergonomic layout, free of obstructions and with plenty of legroom. For extra comfort and convenience, the forward/reverse lever is situated on the tractor dashboard and the engine is iso-mounted to reduce vibration. The standard mid-mounted ROPS provides good operator protection and can be easily folded down if required.

Base UK list prices of John Deere’s new 20C and 25C compact tractors, which are available with a choice of agricultural or turf tyres, are £8990 and £10,250 respectively.
